My Water Moments

During my recent family trip to Bali, we went to Tanjung Benoa for exciting water sports and to visit the turtle island. We were attracted by parasailing and flying fish although the games are quite costly, charged in USD.

Photo taken during the ride to turtle island.

The wind was strong and my aunt who sat in front was splashed wet with sea water, em... The scenery is breathtaking, and you get to see many people parasailing high up in the sky. I just wonder will they get entangled as many people playing at the same time... ? ? Worrying that my digital camera will be damaged (not water -proof), I had to sit inside the boat and zoom to snap photo. This is the concern that I'll have when comes to photo taking at seaside.

After negotiating with the worker, we get some discounts & went on to try the exciting water sports. That was the first time I heard about flying fish. It looks like 3 banana boats that are tighten together, pulled by a speed boat which goes against the wind direction.

Getting ready for the ride!!! I passed my compact camera to my aunt who did not join the game, she became our photographer.

Being pulled by the speed boat, wow!!! Starting to fly up like a kite!!!

We were flying up in a standing position, and had a bird view of the ocean, it's cool! But it's disappointing that my aunt didn't get to snap photo when we were flying high up as the camera I've could not capture fast moving subjects. It'll be much better if we are using the Sony TX5 digital still camera which is able to capture fast actions or a moving subject in a sequence of 10 continuous frames per second.

Upon returning... The photo comes out to be blur and shaky... I definitely need a shock-proof and anti- motion blur camera to avoid this in the future.

YEAH!!!
Half way through the flying fish game, we were brought to the middle of the ocean with the speed boat engine being turned off. We were given the chance to snap some photos there. Too bad we didn't bring along our camera as the risk of it getting wet or even soaked is very high. Our whole body from top to bottom were soaked with salty sea water, I don't wanna sacrifice my camera for this. If I have the ‘World’s Slimmest Water-proof Camera’ Sony TX5, I could have easily bring it along while enjoying the game, what a waste! As it can capture beautiful underwater shots up to 3 metre deep, I'm sure the photo will not disappoint me.

My sis also tried the parasailing, she is so brave. I regret for not trying this after she landed, but due to time constraint I'll leave it to my next visit to Bali.

Brave man!

Those moments at Tanjung Benoa really enjoying and happy, and it would be better if we get to capture more good quality photos as remembrance. I realized that I definitely need a fashionable and useful digital camera like Sony TX5.

It is water-proof, shock-proof, temperature-proof and dust-proof, so I need not to worry too much when I travel to places which have extreme temperature, sandy wind and thunder rain. Despite its attractive outlook, it also comes with awesome functions such as iSweep Panorama, Handheld Twilight and anti-motion blur. Images being captured will thus be sharp, clear and less noise. When I pay visit to places in Bali like Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, I can even take beautiful panoramic shots without extra efforts.

Below are the summaries of Sony TX5 feature taken from its official site , and I hope I stand the chance to win one.

Dive in with the water-proof Cyber-shot TX5 and capture beautiful underwater shots up to 3m deep for up to 60 minutes*.

Bali Family Trip 2010- Seminyak Beach

10th June 2010 to 14th June 2010 was our long awaited family trip, after the Shanghai Trip in 2006. The whole trip was really relaxing and enjoying, except that some of us suffered from food poisoning, diarrhea & vomiting. ><

We stayed at Harris River View Hotel, Kuta, a new hotel with basic facilities eg. swimming pool, WiFi, table tennis etc. And each of us had one hour Balinese massage in the hotel for FREE, with the use of the complimentary voucher. =)

On our last evening at Bali during this trip, we wanna see sunset at Kuta Beach, which is one of the Top 10 things you must do in Bali. However, Edy suggested to go to Seminyak Beach instead due to the super heavy traffic at kuta (Indonesia school holiday period, added more traffic to the usual hectic traffic). Needless to say, traffic at Seminyak was crazy too, but comparatively better than Kuta's.

Seminyak Beach. It's peaceful and lovely.

Tourists along the beach.

Sunbathing spot, but it's quite empty in the evening.

Many youngsters playing along the beach. Soccer fever?

How nice if I know how to surf, there's surf board for rental.

I already zoomed 10X when I took this photo. This man was brave. @@

Getting darker and darker. Kids playing with the sand.

Sunset at Seminyak Beach, part of the sun was covered by the clouds. If we were to wait longer, I believe we could see a better scene as told by Edy. We went to have dinner instead, LOL.

Some Photos Taken By Panasonic Lumix TZ10 Digital Compact Camera

My sis bought a new digital camera yesterday- Panasonic Lumix TZ10, the cost is RM1350 with a free Panasonic SD HC 8G memory card made in Japan & a Lumix camera case. Below are some photos taken by her using her new camera, the quality actually not bad, with 12X optical zoom (16X intelligent zoom).

The HD video taken by this DC has good quality, comparable to camcorder/digital video. Another special feature of this DC is there's a GPS chip in it, so it can detect the location where photos are taken. I need some time to explore and play around with this new dc before I can get used to it.

Hula Hoop Exercise- Any Benefit?

These few days I started to play hula hoop, a simple and easy exercise which I've abandoned since long long ago. And what make me suddenly resume this old-style yet boring exercise? Well, because I've bought a new pair of swimming suit and wanna look slightly better in it, you know what I mean, I don't wanna see my tummy. >< I don't know is hula hooping effective in reducing my waistline, but I wanna give it a try since it's in fact no harm for playing it.

Usually I'll play hula hoop while watching tv, so I won't feel the boredom. I think by playing hula hoop, it does help a bit in firming our body. When we spin the hula hoop around our body, we are using our torso muscles and thus help to strengthen them. Of course it can improve our body coordination since one who doesn't have good coordination won't be able to play hula hoop. I don't think there's anyone out there who can't play hula hoop nowadays, especially the ladies.

Hula hooping is a form of aerobic exercise and equivalent to jogging. It helps to burn those extra calories from 'sinful' fatty food like chocolate, fried chicken etc. I'm not sure how long it will take for me to reduce my waistline and body weight, but at least I know that it's good for my health and can improve my metabolism rate. I'll try to keep my enthusiasm and play hula hoop regularly until I've reached the desired body weight, wish me luck. ^o^
