Kota Damansara Star Village- 星之村西餐厅

前几天到Kota Damansara的星之村西餐厅(Star Village)'喝茶'，觉得那儿的气氛很不错。它的主题是沙滩，所以可以看到很多有关seaside的装潢，很特别。

Kota Damansara的主题是沙滩。另外在别家的主题是60年代怀旧和环保，我没去过。

这是朋友帮我们点的supper,超好吃的面包。外皮酥脆，里面却很松软，有点像炸馒头的口感，但更香。表面好像有层盐还是别的调味料，很香。配面包吃的酱料味道像mashed potato，很不错！

我要的饮料，很好喝！忘记名字了，好像是SunTea.味道酸酸甜甜的，挺解渴。里面加了些lemon片，我的最爱。

店里有只被吊起来的假猩猩(还是猴子？)，一直转来转去，怪可怜的，哈哈。

有辆星之村的车子摆设在门口，不知道用处是什么。。。让客人拍照吧，哈。

Cari Makan at Tong Kok Hotel, Kuala Lipis

Last week I attended a course (Kursus Kenegaraan, or Kursus Biro Tatanegara BTN) at Kem Bina Negara, Kuala Lipis. Surprisingly, I find the course much better than what I expected. Accomodation & food wise are ok, still tolerable for me. Get to meet some old & new frenz there, very enjoying loh. I kind of like the activities too, especially flying fox! I've height phobia, really didn't expect myself to have such courage to play this game. Haha...

On the last day of the course, we headed to Kuala Lipis town to cari makan. Esther became our tour leader. :) We came to this hainanese style coffee shop to have our tea. It's located at Tong Kok Hotel (hotel? @@). When we reached there, the big round table was occupied. However, a mr. nice old man there let us had the table, big thanks to him!!! :)

We tried the famous roti bakar, steam bread and coffee. I love the roti bakar the most, maybe because I'm always the number one fan of roti bakar. hehe.

University of Malaya- Orientation Day 2009

Last sunday ( 28 June 2009) was the starting of UM Orientation 2009. Since I've graduated from UM in 2006, I only went there twice. First time was during my prp period, I went to UM medical faculty book store to help my senior buy a TPN handbook (but didn't manage to get it, lol); The second time I went in was just to pick up sze min from 6th College, ages ago also, haha.

We reached UM around 9.30am, along the way I could see many cars and guards guiding the way. My sis has to report at 7th College, but we were being told to park at a place which is not that near to the college. After 'climbing up & down the hill' 2 times, I could feel sweats all around my body, so tiring...

The outlook of 7th College. It looks quite ok from outside. My aunt & uncle said this was the best college during their time... around 30 yrs ago, hahaha ^^ But I think it's quite small compared to 1st College

Hong Kong Dim Sum @ Uptown, Damansara Utama

Last Tuesday I went to eat dim sum at a Hong Kong Dim Sum Restaurant at Uptown, Damansara Utama. This restaurant is quite new and only started its business around end of 2008 or early 2009. It’s always crowded with many people during public holidays and weekends. Due to the large crowd of people, I thought that the dim sum there must be really great or super cheap. Since the restaurant is fully air-conditioned, I know that cheap price won’t be the main reason for its popularity…

Anyway, after giving it a try, I would rate it as normal, yeah, really normal. The best dim sum there which I’ve tried was the Fried Fish Balls. I dislike the HK chee cheong fun being served, why? Because I could taste some uncooked stuff (flour?) and spit it out, so disgusting taste. The shrimp/prawn dumpling wasn’t good as I could taste the flour again…

怡保一日游 Day Trip to Ipoh

6月15日，我和景慧由KL Sentral搭乘Shuttle Train去怡保，开始我们的一日游。可能因为我们买RM10一趟的ticket，所以椅子有点硬，旁边遮挡阳光的'屏风'也刚好坏了。我们在火车上一直聊天，虽然有段时间没见面了，但完全没有生疏感。

大概3个小时后，我们到达怡保火车站，诗敏已经在那儿等我们了。之前诗敏有问我们要到ipoh哪儿玩，结果我们就只想到吃喝、买手信和聊天，哈哈。 由于我没吃早餐的关系，肚子咕噜咕噜直叫，立刻嚷着要去医肚子，嘿嘿。诗敏带我们到怡保旧街场吃午餐，我们到了家餐厅吃咖哩面。我选了河粉面配干咖哩，听到名字已经口水直流了，哈哈！ 还叫了杯海底椰帮助解渴，景慧竟然以为那餐厅有海底椰加马蹄这饮料，结果那店员忍不住笑了出来。其实也不会很好笑啦，现在什么饮料都有不是吗，只要有市场就有供应，呵。

一口气就把它解决了，虽然看起来不大碟，但很饱！水也不错，是真的海底椰，不是罐头那种。

吃了午餐，我们就先去买手信，怡保的手信不外乎是食物。买了我妈妈喜欢的kaya角，还买了鸡仔饼、香饼，都很好吃！如果不是因为麻烦带那么重的东西进火车，我还要多买几包，现在又后悔了。。。yee hup的香饼到处可见，可是我觉得还是从怡保买来的比较好吃，很脆而且有香浓的碳香味。这绝对不是心理作用，因为吃过2次别人从别地买来的yee hup香饼，味道都是'麻麻地'。。。接下来我们到附近的店铺吃豆腐花，最喜欢这里的豆腐花了，很香滑，而且棒在手上还是热乎乎的。每次到怡保我们都吃这家(奇峰豆腐花)的豆腐花，而且还会拍照，哈哈。那时是午餐时间，好多人在排队等，如果不是因为太饱，我还想喝他家的豆浆，我好像没喝过。看到人潮那么多，真想转行卖豆花。。。

好忙，是两父子吗。。。

吃了豆腐花，我们到Green Town那儿一间叫'老地方'的店聊天，我叫了杯ice lemon honey. 我们聊了很多不同的话题，因为好久没见面了，所以一直滔滔不绝地在聊。我们那时才发现原来大家认识好久了-7年。因为认识他们是在大一orientation week的时候，是02年5月尾，如果不是刻意去追忆，我都没发现时间溜得那么快。。。小我7年的妹妹现在也快进大学了，时间催人老啊。。。但我心境很年轻的，哈哈哈。我们还计划一起去旅行，跟他们一起去玩可以重拾我在大学的回忆、心境和感觉，不过一直都少了一个人！

到了吃晚餐的时间(其实还是超饱)，我们去到'安记芽菜鸡'。我最喜欢怡保的芽菜，肥肥短短脆脆的，而且很甜，不需要太多的调味料已经很好吃了！我连最后一颗也不放过，哈。

不知不觉，我们就结束了短暂的怡保游，真是依依不舍。。。诗敏把我们载到火车站时已经是5点55分了(火车6点准时开车)，我们还糊涂地以为才5点35分，看来我们blur blur的性格从大学时代到现在都没改变，呵呵。合照后我们就上火车了(我竟然在合照时阖眼，啊)，诗敏还给了我和景慧一人一罐自制的cookies,感动ing... Cookies很好吃，我要肥死了。:P

Japanese Spring Food Fair @ One Utama

This evening I went to One Utama with Yin for Japanese Spring Food Fair & sushi dinner, yes, I love Japanese food! This food fair is organized by Shojikiya and held next to Gelato Fruity Ice Cream @ New Wing, One Utama.

All the sales persons are wearing Kimono, yellow in colour. Above photo shows a sales girl demonstrating how to cook miso soup. I tried it, not bad, so I bought a box of miso paste for me to cook soup at Temerloh. ><

Choya Plum wine. I tried 2 types, 15% alcohol tastes better but we have chosen 10% because it's cheaper. If you spend RM50 or above, you get to buy one bottle (160ml) of choya wine with RM10, which is much cheaper than normal price. We finished the wine in seconds once we got home, haha.

We had dinner at Sushi Zanmai again tonight, the best economic sushi restaurant in town. I've blogged about this before, but I'm still addicted to the sushi served over there. As usual, we ate egg sushi, potato mayo, salmon sushi etc. We also tried something different like soft shell crab maki.

A must try potato mayo, I've ordered endless time. The potato blend with egg and some crispy vege (cucumber? cannot really tell), delicious. Japan cucumber is crunchy and 'sweet', I love it! One for RM4.80, excluding tax.

First time try this- Soft Shell Crab Maki, RM6.00.Not bad,the soft shell crab very crispy, but a bit salty and too much flour.

文德甲(Mentakab)的Tom Yam 与虾面

说到Mentakab出名的食物，大家应该会首推文德甲新村的泰国Tom Yam, 之前AEC'阿贤人情味'也到过那儿介绍。那是正宗的泰国Tom Yam, 因为老板娘是泰国人，听说煮Tom Yam的材料也是回泰国买的。那儿的Tom Yam带甜， 我觉得配面吃刚刚好， 不像本地的那么酸。其实最出名的是配白面， 但我几次去都卖完了， 所以到现在都没试过！朋友说如果要吃白面就得在早上十点前到那儿，怎么可能呢。。。结果我每次都是吃米粉或黄面。>< 可能因为出名的关系，价钱也比以前贵了，最近一次去吃是RM5.0 (大概今年3月), 现在就不清楚了。上次有试过打包回家，可是味道好像不一样了，还是坐在那儿吃比较好。 Tom Yam汤里的肉碎很特别，虾也很新鲜，哈哈。

另外，在文德甲Public Bank旁边的虾面也很出名(沟渠旁@@)。 有次2点多去到那，老板还在准备开档，已经有不少人排队准备打包了。我心想应该是非常好吃吧，因为问过不少当地人他们也说这档虾面很赞。可是，老实说，我觉得很普通吧了，不知道是那天刚好失水准还是怎样。。。汤没什么味道，吃不出有用虾壳熬过，不'甜'。本来以为是自己的味觉有问题，但同事也说'麻麻地'。 不过配料蛮不错的，sambal也很开胃，我加了好多好多。Junior说那档口卖的Asam Laksa不错，下次要试试。可是他开档的时间很怪，3点左右开始，然后晚餐前就卖完了！
